And I remember when I knew that you’d be leaving, how I barely kept up breathing And I bet if I had to do it all again, I’d feel the same pain, And I remember panicked circles in the terminal in tears. How I wept to god in fits. I’ve hated airports ever since……
I’ve been alone here, I’ve been alone here, I’ve been afraid, my dear.
Taryn made me this sweet mix, thank you for that babe!
I’ve lived this distance before and I know it won’t kill me. As I watched you walk through that terminal line, half of my heart went with you. My dear, my sister, my lover, my friend.
I tell myself it won’t be long, it’s all I need to just hang on Until I see you again. All these lonely sleepless nights, won’t matter when you hold me tight and I feel your lips on my skin but until then…
At the Noise Apparel Halloween show I ran into a bit of a problem. My electric guitar, my Gibson SG, was in the shop. I was having a full set up done and one of my pick ups needed some loving. So I had been borrowing a guitar from my father, but as the Halloween show rolled around I was no longer permitted to use his guitar.
Needless to say I was tweaking out becahuse the set list has changed and I play most of the songs on electric now and only three or so on my acoustic. I tried texting people and calling people but no one could come to my aid. The first band to play was AM:PM. They are just two guys, drums and guitar. Their singer/guitar player was playing this beautiful Gibson. I hate asking people to borrow guitars because I know how OCD I am with my guitars.
Well he saved the day and let me use his Gibson Les Paul Studio. Most Les Pauls are quiet heavy and that’s why I’ve never been a major fan of them. (side note, Gibson use to have the vixen line that was designed for female musicians. There was a SG, les paul, and flying V (I think?). They were all much lighter then their originals. But they were discontinued and I think Gibson needs to bring them back)
The guitar was just beautiful. It had such a great sound and it was so smooth to play. The only thing that was annoying was the way the pick guard lays, it’s slightly tilted up. I kept hitting it oddly with my hand. I strum like an Acoustic player so if you watch me play electric you can tell I learn everything on acoustic lol.
Isn’t it pretty? That’s totally the next guitar I want!
